Message from Shri J.K. Mittal, Chairperson–CARA

 

I have pleasure to introduce the website (redesigned) to all our associated and partner agencies, prospective adoptive parents and all friends from media. I have recently joined CARA and have a dream to expand the programme all over the country and make the adoption process hassle free and less cumbersome. We are also developing centralized database and multimedia campaign to enable prospective adoptive parents to take informed decision. We have In-country Guidelines 2004 and Inter-country Guidelines 2006, which govern the procedure related to domestic and foreign adoption respectively. Now CARA has decided to take up revision of the same to make it more users friendly.

 

It is time to ensure transparency at all levels across adoption process. In this regard, strengthening of CARA, reorganizing adoption system and expanding the programme in non-programme states are important priorities.

 

We all are working for a noble cause and I would solicit cooperation from all associated agencies/partners in our efforts to find more orphan/abandoned/surrendered children to be adopted through recognized/licensed adoption agencies. I shall appreciate positive ideas from all concerned who intend to contribute to the cause.
